Splendid Girl / Sketch 305 / Suzanna Lee

Hey sketch fans! Suzanna here today to share with you my interpretation of this month's sketch, Sketch 305. We are teamed up with The Cut Shoppe this month and were blessed with the ability to use some of Ashley's awesome digital cut files to create with.

I have a YouTube video that shares my creative process and shows you how this layout came together. I will apologize in advance for the shorter voice over than the video. There were some errors in voice over that resulted in me narrating this not once, not twice, not three, but FOUR times. By the fourth take, I was a tad tired of repeating myself. I'm sure, if you are a parent, you understand where I'm coming from. :)

I was pretty literal in my interpretation of this sketch with three clusters as the sketch called for with the same layer configuration. I also used "sprinklings" of smaller embellishments around the clusters. My variations are title placement and only a single picture. In place of the other two pictures, I used chipboard frames which I filled with either journaling or other writing.

The three digital cut file collections that I used from The Cut Shoppe are;
Splendid Spring, Wreathed in Love and Funky Florals. The leafy wreath and flower are perfect substitutes for the circles in the sketch.

The change in title placement was largely due to the fact that I handstitched a border around my outer squares and left more space than I needed between the top and bottom squares. I have to fill that in so the title was a good filler.

Thank you Ashley for sharing your lovely digital cut files with us this month! We would love to see what you create with this sketch! Make sure to share your creations with us on Instagram  -  @CreativeScrappers and link to Us with hashtags #CSSketch305 and #CreatingWithSketches - you can submit your layouts here on our blog as well under the reveal blog post.

Thanks for stopping in today!

Treasure You - Sketch #305 by Caroli Schulz

Hello CS peeps, how are you? Caroli here sharing my take of this fabulous sketch #305 designed by our talented Kristine.

I love the idea of three clusters of embellies, it's fun and pretty at the same time. Here is my take:

For this project I used March kit by Clique Kits, which features Shimelle's Little by Little collection and some pics of my baby boy whe he was just few months old.

This month we are teaming up with The Cut Shoppe so all DT member got to receive some gorgeous cutfiles. It was such a hard decision because all of them are fabulous but I finally used Bless Your Heart file.

I hope you enjoy and that you will take time to play along with us at Creative Scrappers using this wonderful sketch.

Hello Flawless | Sarah King

Hello everyone!! Sarah here today to share with you my take on this months sketch, #305 and oh man did I love this one!! And I loved this months sponsors too! The Cut Shoppe , Ashley has so many different cut files, I loved working with them! Here's my layout.

I started my layout with a white background at first and then decided to change it up to a wood grain background. I wanted my cut files to pop a little more and on the white background it just wasn't happening.

I added a little a few layers behind my photos and then went to backing my cutfiles. After I backed my cutfiles I placed them on my background where I wanted them and started to layers my photos with other cutfiles.

Then I started to add little embellishments here and there, with a bit of dimension to some of them and some wood pieces, a rub on title and added a few sequins.

We would love to see what you create with this sketch too, so make sure to share your creations on Instagram  using #creatingwithsketches  I hope you enjoyed my take on this months sketch and I would love for you to follow me on Instagram and my Blog

Thanks so much and cant wait to see what you create!!

Hey. Feeling Yucky. Sketch 305

Hi everyone!  Audrey Yeager here to share my take on this months sketch.  I just LOVE LOVE this circle design.  I am all about doing things in groups of 3, so this is perfect!

We are also teaming up with The Cut Shoppe this month, and I chose some scribbly circles called "Around and Around" which you can find here in the Cut Shoppe store.

I used some papers and embellies from several Dear Lizzy collections including Lovely Day and Saturdays.  I wanted to stick with a muted, darker background to go along with the theme of my page.

Since my background was dark, I stuck to white cardstock for my die cuts and them layered some other colorful circles behind them.  Instead of a third photo, I opted to use two and just add journaling in the third.

I also fussy cut these flowers from one of the Dear Lizzy papers, but I decided to leave them uncolored, again, to go with my theme.

Please share your take on this months sketch here on this thread

Bloom | Sketch 305 | By Joefil Cate

Hello scrappy friends
Joefil here today, sharing my take on the sketch 305. Using a cut file from our sponsor this month, The Cut Shoppe and photos of my daughter. Enjoy!

-Here's my layout-

-Here is the fabulous sketch-

-Here are some of my close up-
I started my page by using white card stock for my background, and I used the spring fling cut file from the cut shoppe and backing the cut file with different pattern paper, this is fun for me, it takes time but I love the result. I used Illustrated Faith she blooms collection I think its the perfect color for spring along with the beautiful stickers and chipboard flowers.
I also added some watercolor behind my photos and sewing thread behind all the flowers, I love the texture of sewing thread added. some of the flowers I layered behind the photos is I fussy cut from the pattern paper.
for my title I also used the same cut file I just enlarge it and backing with this beautiful watercolor paper from recollection and its the perfect color for this collection and added a strip of washi tape behind, and added my subtitle from the ephemera pack. to finish off my page I added black color shine for splatters and yellow sequins.

Don't forget to share your pages on Instagram using #creatingwithsketches and also I would love you to follow me on my blog or Instagram.

Thank you for stopping by! xoxo Joefil
